Voluntary Carbon Markets
London, 12 - 13 October 2009
Accelerating change in the global voluntary offset markets
London, 12 - 13 October
Global Sponsors:
Dear Colleague,
It gives me great pleasure to announce the 5th edition of the Voluntary Carbon Markets conference and exhibition which is taking place at the America Square Conference Centre, London, on the 12 - 13 October 2009.
A recent study from New Carbon Finance and Ecosystem Marketplace stated that the Voluntary Carbon Market increased significantly in 2008 reaching 123.4MtCO2e, almost double its size in 2007. However, a decrease in VER prices and volume at the beginning of 2009 have shown that the VCM is not immune to the global economic climate.
The state of the Voluntary Carbon Market study however differs from the voluntary offsetting report published by ENDS on projected market activity and consumer motivations in the voluntary offset market. 83% of offset buyers stated that they would continue purchasing voluntary carbon credits, where as the industries' suppliers projected a 66% decrease in the market's growth rate.
25+ industry experts are already confirmed to speak, including:
